Soccer followers had been subjected to yet one more weird ESPN video throughout Friday’s Rose Bowl Sport between No. 1 Alabama and No. 4 Notre Dame.
The video, in a format the network uses on “Monday Night Football” and through the School Soccer Playoff, exhibits an . . . creative interpretation . . . of how Alabama was denied a sixth straight CFP look in 2019 and the way the staff took measures to make it again in 2020.
This is the video:
Really weird. It appears as if Alabama coach Nick Saban is making an attempt to make it to a barbecue within the suburbs, the place he’s locked out by the 4 Playoff groups: LSU, Clemson, Ohio State and Oklahoma. The representations for these 4 groups, respectively, are former LSU quarterback Joe Burrow; Clemson coach Dabo Swinney, sitting on a throne; Brutus Buckeye, working on a treadmill, for some purpose; and the Sooner Schooner.
After that, it confirmed Saban — and an elephant, after all — barging into the 2020 Playoff with some modified 12-wheel tailgate. That is not too removed from the reality for the top-seeded Tide, who roundly beat Notre Dame 31-14 on Friday. However nonetheless . . . it is bizarre.
Followers had been naturally mystified by the video, and so they let or not it’s recognized on Twitter:
